At what time should we schedule the couple portraits?

In a perfect world, I would schedule the portraits to happen about 45 minutes before sunset. However, in most cases, that is not possible. As a general rule, the light towards the end of the day is better (I’d prefer you to give me 15 minutes of good light than an hour at noon!) I’d recommend that you allow +/- 45 minutes for the portraits, not including transportation time.

If we are unable to take the photos late in the day, we need to find decent shade. Wedding portraits in direct, harsh mid-day sunlight won’t please you – trust me!
